PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
SUMMER 2020

President’s Message …..
As only one element of our new "reality" our annual All Schools Reunion scheduled for March 14, 2020 had to be cancelled at the last minute. The decision was made by Valley Wide based on an edict by their governing body. Since our group consists mainly of "senior" citizens it was deemed unsafe to have a gathering of so many people in the most vulnerable age group. Even though it was a great disappointment for many it was easy to understand the need for caution. Another element of our cancellation conversations was how to handle the monies expended on reservations. The consensus was to simply offer a "Rain Check" for 2021. In many of my conversations with attendees they preferred to just let the money be used for HAA charitable works. With hopes to make things equitable for all we will add a "Rain Check" box to the 2021 invitations and those who prefer to have their monies forwarded to the next reunion are welcome to so indicate on their reservation form. Thanks to Carol we have very clear records so verifying reservations can be part of the process. Having to wait an extra year to be able to meet and chat with our fellow alumnae should make our next event even more popular. Because I graduated in the class of 1961 it will be a milestone event for myself and my classmates. Imagine how we can all look so young even though we graduated 60 years ago! I am looking forward to seeing all of you and hopefully in the meantime we will all stay healthy and safe. Anna Marie Alvarez-Teherani |
